It’s official, in 23 days it’s Christmas 🙂 (just a friendly reminder in case you would have missed all the lights, decorated trees, candles, chocolates…all around).
We don’t know about you but, we, at Travel Brazil Tours, are particularly excited about this period of the year. The family and friends getting together around yummy homemade brunches, lunches, dinners or simply snuggling on the sofa by the fireplace holding a cup of hot chocolate and sharing memories, future projects and sometimes a few presents… (more…)

My first experience falling in love with Porto de Galinhas…
When I arrived in this little town decorated with charming craft shops, filled with assorted dining places (many wonderful “churrascrias” or barbecues) and cafes, I had no idea how much I would fall in love with this place. Walking to the beach in a large street – made for pedestrians only – I was taking in the soft music and enjoying the aroma from the different restaurants all around. As I arrived at the beach, I saw this mesmerizing ocean with very clear water and my biggest delight was putting my feet in the water feeling the warmth that I always crave so much for in Vancouver, Canada, where my husband and I currently live. It felt like bath water. (more…)
Known locally under the name of Açaí na Tigela (literally “Açaí in a bowl”), this delicious Brazilian dish (very similar to the texture of a smoothie) is an absolute must try.
Typically, it is made with frozen mashed açaí berries topped with granola and sliced bananas. Sometimes you may find some more “exotic versions” of the recipe (served with mixed nuts and sliced strawberries for instance). Usually Brazilians like to keep it simple. And truthfully, when you get to try the original recipe you understand why it is so good (and we could even say amazing) as it is. (more…)
The tropics of Brazil are amazing! You’ll never put your camera away. It is truly a Garden of Eden, lest you eat of that tree.
Hold a cup of aromatic coffee and you’ll be holding colonial history in your hands.
The habit of drinking coffee was developed in the Arab culture. At first the coffee was known only for its stimulant properties. The fruit was eaten fresh and was used to feed and stimulate the herds on the road. Over time, the coffee began to be mashed and mixed with animal fat to facilitate consumption while traveling. Brazilians do not use their hands to eat. They usually use a fork and knife for just about everything including sandwiches, pizzas, chicken and more. Although Brazilians are aware that North Americans and other countries often use their hands to eat, they are quite amused by that and will probably watch one eating with their hands discretely since Brazilians are very curious people.
