…Your Christmas Tree :-)?
When it comes to Christmas decorations everyone has different things in mind. Between the “tradition lovers” who insist on getting a new tree every year with the whole family and those who decide to express a bit more their creativity and do their own…In the end, there is a tree for every taste :).
We, at Travel Brazil Tours, are not gonna hide it any longer, we are particularly fond of the Christmas season and all the joy around it. It’s the perfect time to share memories, love…and of course great food. Hence don’t be surprised if you see a few posts around the Christmas Theme this month; between the great DIY gift and deco ideas all around, the fantastic recipes and the messages of love all around, let’s admit it, it’s quite inspiring :-).
Today, we would like to quickly talk about Christmas & Christmas Trees in Brazil; just because we thought you might learn a few things and also, simply because we like to share.
As you may already know Brazil is quite sunny all year round, which often makes the common feelings of “cold”, “snow”, “snuggling” around Christmas time, a little bit different. Nevertheless, Brazilians love to celebrate Christmas. In fact, it is one of the most important celebrations of the year. The population being so multicultural, the festivities across the country vary from one place to another. While many families like to set up a tree in their house and ornate it with electric lights and lovely plastic or handmade balls, in many cities throughout Brazil one can see gigantic “electric trees”. These are assembled in the sape of pine trees but they are made with lights only – and not a proper tree like we often see in most places around the world. They are so tall and impressive that they can be seen from miles away and they lighten up the sky of Brazil during the entire Christmas season.
But let us know, how do you like your Christmas tree? Traditional? Original? Don’t be shy, share your ideas and pictures with us :)!!
